Norton & Sons Made to Measure delivers all of the style, choice, and exceptional service of our Bespoke, but in a more streamlined approach. Using existing patterns which are tailored to your measurements, this option ensures a perfect fit as well as the house’s renowned craftsmanship.

The Made to Measure Process

At Norton & Sons, our Made to Measure offering delivers the same exceptional quality and craftsmanship as our Bespoke service, but with a more streamlined process and shorter timescale. While a bespoke suit is entirely handcrafted from scratch, the made to measure option takes advantage of our existing patterns, which are then tailored specifically to your measurements and preferences. This ensures the same level of attention to detail, perfect fit and finish that the house is known for, but with fewer fittings and a faster turnaround.

Our Made to Measure service is delivered by the very same team who make our Bespoke, which means you get the same expert advice on style and cloth selection and the same experienced tailor overseeing the fit of your garments.

Consultation

Your journey begins with a one on one consultation with one of expert tailors. We will discuss your preferences in terms of style, fabric and fit, while taking into account the purpose of the suit, your shape, and lifestyle.
Our Made to Measure process still offers a highly personalised service - we will take your measurements, carefully noting the adjustments to be made to the pattern before your cloth is ordered and your pieces made by our tailoring factory.

Fitting

After your measurements are taken and your pattern is cut, we conduct an intermediate toile fitting, whereby the suit is assembled in a loose, unlined form.
During this fitting, it allows us to test the pattern perfect the fit whilst still at an early stage in the process. This fitting is also an opportunity to discuss design, fit and comfort and allow us to make any necessary changes that will ensure a perfect finish.

Finishing

Once we have made the necessary adjustments throughout the fitting stages, your final fitting allows you to see the completed suit in its finished cloth.
At this stage, we maky need to make any small tweaks or adjustments that overall will ensure the perfect final fit off your garments.

Made to Measure Shirting

Made to Measure shirt making follows a similar process. You will begin by choosing from two fits of shirt; classic and slim, five collar shapes and four cuff styles before selecting from a range of over 1800 fine shirting fabrics.
