WOMENS BESPOKE

Norton & Sons has a long tradition of bespoke women's tailoring, and we're now revitalising this heritage with a fresh perspective and a modernised house cut.

Bespoke tailoring on Savile Row is an art perfected over almost 700 years. At Norton & Sons our tailoring team assemble each suit without compromise; each piece of cloth and canvas that goes into your suits is painstakingly marked and cut by hand; thousands of hand stitches join the cloth to its canvas interlinings; the sections of the garment are skillfully shaped by hand into your exact form; linings, edges and buttonholes are meticulously finished by hand.

We are proud that, to this day, our master craftsmen hand-cut and sew our bespoke clothing in our workrooms at No.16 Savile Row.

The Process

Our women’s bespoke service offers a truly creative and collaborative experience. It begins with a personal consultation, where we discuss your ideas, lifestyle, and how and where you’ll wear your garment. From there, we advise on cloth, construction, and finishing details—all tailored to you.

What makes Bespoke so special is the freedom it allows. Much like couture, it’s a process where your imagination sets the direction. Whether you have a clear vision or just a few starting ideas, we’ll work with you to bring your design to life—no detail is too small, and no concept too ambitious. This is your opportunity to shape every aspect of your garment, from cut and silhouette to fabric, lining, and hand-finished touches.

Once your design is agreed, our tailor will take your measurements, along with detailed notes on your posture and shape. These form your unique pattern made entirely from scratch, ensuring a flawless fit that’s as individual as you are.

From this a unique hand-cut pattern is created from scratch and will continue to be refined throughout the fitting process. If you are a new customer, this process may involve several fittings working closely with our tailor and pattern maker. Once your pattern has been perfected it is retained in our pattern room and all subsequent orders will be made using this unique template.

Each bespoke garment is cut and sewn under the control of our Head Cutter. Our tailoring team is composed of the finest specialist coat-makers, trouser-makers, vest-makers, alteration tailors, finishing tailors and pressers, all trained in their craft here on Savile Row. The making of a single suit involves up to eleven craftsmen and may take between 60-80 hours.

The lead time on our bespoke is approximately 12-15 weeks.
