The Undyed Glen Check Jacket returns. Bringing back one of our most successful pieces across ready to wear, made to measure and bespoke, in a cloth now found only at Norton & Sons.

Cut with a 4” notch lapel, slightly wider than our house standard, this single breasted, one button jacket features a patch pocket and chestnut buttons. The cloth is a British undyed wool glen check. At first glance it can read as a simple black and white, but look closer and it is in fact a very dark brown and an off white. It is this natural, unprocessed colouring that gives the cloth its quiet depth and its versatility, sitting just as easily within a tonal wardrobe as it does within a monochrome one. A high twist handle gives the cloth genuine crease resistance, and combined with its colouring, makes it a jacket suited to being worn all year round.

Why we designed this…

This glen check has a history with us. When the cloth was discontinued by its original weaver, we were faced with losing a piece our clients had come to rely on. Rather than let it go, we took the opportunity to weave a version entirely our own, meaning this undyed glen check is now exclusive to Norton & Sons and cannot be found anywhere else.

It is a fitting piece for a season built on British cloth and British landscapes, undyed wool in its most honest form, true to the colour it was born in rather than a colour chosen for it. Reintroduced by popular demand, it remains one of the most versatile pieces in the collection, equally at home in the country and the city.
