We started with the cloth rather than the cut. Flax grown in Normandy, woven in Italy, chosen for the character and texture only that combination gives.

The construction followed from there. Left unlined, with a natural shoulder and patch pockets, the jacket had to move easily and wear lightly, built for warmth rather than protection from it. The gunclub check, soft in beige, khaki, and muted blue, was picked to sit between smart and casual rather than commit to either.
